Jewelry Care

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY GAIINE JEWELRY?
Most of our pieces are crafted from stainless steel, making them tarnish-resistant and durable. However, to keep your Gaiine jewelry looking its best, we recommend the following:

  • Removing your jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising.
  • Avoiding contact with perfumes, lotions, and hair products, as chemicals and oils can affect the finish.
  • Steering clear of harsh chemicals, bleach, oils, or heavy-duty jewelry cleaners, as they can damage the surface.
  • Sterling silver pieces (925) should be stored in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent tarnishing.
  • Brass and plated items require extra care, as exposure to the elements listed above may cause tarnishing or oxidation.

CAN I SHOWER OR SWIM WITH MY JEWELRY?
While many Gaiine pieces are water-resistant, we recommend keeping them out of water to ensure their longevity. Store your jewelry in a dry, safe place and remove it before bathing, swimming, or exercising. Sterling silver and brass pieces are particularly sensitive to water exposure and should be kept dry to maintain their original shine.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY JEWELRY?
For regular cleaning:

  • Use warm water and a detergent-free soap. Gently dry with a jewelry-safe cloth to avoid scratching.
  • For sterling silver (925): Use a silver polishing cloth to remove tarnish.
  • Avoid self-polishing high-polish pieces to prevent surface scratches.

WHY IS MY JEWELRY CHANGING COLOR?
Over time, exposure to air, moisture, and skin oils may cause tarnishing or discoloration, especially for sterling silver and brass pieces. This is a natural process for these materials and not a defect. Tarnish can be easily removed from silver 925 with a polishing cloth. Brass pieces may tarnish when exposed to harsh chemicals, soaps, or lotions. Following our care tips will help keep your Gaiine jewelry radiant for years to come.
